It has been guarding this sea area ever since. The light of the lighthouse is said to be visible from 19.5 nautical miles away. Inubosaki Lighthouse was selected as one of the top 100 lighthouses in the world and is a historical lighthouse that represents Japan. To walk from Kimigahama Shiosai Park to the lighthouse, you have to climb a flight of stairs to reach the cape where the lighthouse is located. From a distance you can see the white lighthouse standing on the dark cape. Although the lighthouse has been standing for 150 years, its appearance is well maintained and does not look old at all. It looks very beautiful in photos against the blue sky behind. You can visit the exhibition hall and climb to the top of the lighthouse by buying a 300 yen ticket. The information exhibition hall introduces the history of the lighthouse, and you can also see the huge lens used in the lighthouse up close. To get to the top of the lighthouse, you have to climb 99 steps, but once you get there you can see the entire coastline. The only slight problem was that the wind was so strong on the windward side that I couldn't open my eyes, making it difficult to take pictures. The produce shop next door sells coffee and light meals, and you can also buy some local specialties such as fruits, vegetables, and seafood. If you want to see the sea and relax, this is a great spot to spend an afternoon leisurely.
