Cloudy day in Cinque Terre 🇮🇹

The Cinque Terre in December is really desolate, and the colors on the cover of National Geographic are mostly muted😒 but it is still worth a visit~ Cinque Terre, as the name suggests, is made up of five fishing villages, including Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. The Cinque Terre is located along the coast with unique scenery. The exterior walls of each house are painted in gorgeous colors, like gems in the Mediterranean. There is one of the most beautiful hiking routes in the world between the five villages, which is about 15-20 kilometers long and takes 5-7 hours to complete the whole journey. In addition, there is a shorter Via dei Love, which is more than 1 km long and connects the villages of Riomaggiore and Manarola. Unfortunately, since it was the off-season in December when we went there, both roads were closed and we could only travel between villages by train. Since the sun sets at 4:30 in winter, we only chose to visit two of the villages. Starting from La Spezia, our first stop was Manarola. The colorful little houses built on the hillside and scattered around in magazines introducing the Cinque Terre came from here. The advantage of the off-season is that there are very few tourists, and you can basically book the whole place for taking photos 📸📷~ We walked and took some photos, and before we knew it, the sun was about to set. Since the Road of Love was closed, we hurriedly took the train to the next village. It was already dark when we arrived in Riomaggiore, so we visited the few small shops that were still open. The refrigerator magnets and handmade tiles here are so cute! Even though they are a bit heavy and breakable, I couldn't resist buying a bunch of them!
