Later, it became a deserted temple because in 2309-2310, when Ayutthaya was lost for the second time, the Burmese army came to this area and recruited monks and villagers to serve as soldiers in the Burmese army, causing Wat Sak Yai to become a deserted temple. 😚 I walked around for a while and saw the entrance where I could go to pay homage to the almost 700-year-old Buddha statue of Luang Por Sukhothai. At first, I was a bit shocked and decided not to go because it seemed like a place to practice meditation. The monks invited me to go up. 🤩 Let me tell you, this is the highlight of the temple.
