The Day I Was Blown Away by Hoover Dam

I never expected a concrete wall to leave me speechless, but that's exactly what happened when I visited Hoover Dam last month. Sitting on the border between Nevada and Arizona, this massive structure is so much more impressive in person than in photos. When you first see it, the size hits you immediately. It towers over 700 feet above the Colorado River, and I found myself feeling tiny standing next to it. Lake Mead stretches out behind it like a giant mirror reflecting the desert sky. My favorite spot was definitely the memorial bridge nearby. I spent at least 30 minutes there taking pictures and just staring at the view. You can see everything from up there. The visitor center is sadly closed at the moment.
