Cork was originally a settlement established by monks. Because of its influence in the "War of the Roses" It was nicknamed the "Rebellious City" for its support of the House of York. The first attraction we visited was the famous BLARNEY CASTLE&GARDENS, which was built 600 years ago by Cormac McCarthy, one of the greatest chiefs. The famous Blarney Stone was built by Cormac McCarthy in 1446. It is embedded in the tower of the castle. Kissing it will give you the gift of eternal eloquence. It is said that the people who have kissed this stone include Sir Winston Churchill and Ronald Reagan... Foreign friends traveling with them, both men and women, queue up to participate piously. To be honest, it was quite technically difficult. Considering the hygiene issues, our mother and daughter chose to give up. The charm of Blarney Castle goes far beyond the stone. The 60 acres of gardens surrounding the castle are worth slowly admiring. The fern garden, carnivorous courtyard, big trees, poison garden, herb border, etc. are all marked with paths. The manor also has a wide variety of native wildlife and is the first manor to be awarded the honorary title of "Wildlife Manor" by the European Landowners Organization.
