Butterfly Spring

Butterfly Spring is located on the west side of National Highway 214 in Dali, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, at the foot of Yunnong Peak, the 19th peak of Cangshan Mountain in the Hengduan Mountains, and is embedded between Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. Butterfly Spring is a fissure spring formed on the fracture zone of the outcrop area of ​​granite. The spring pool is inlaid with marble railings. On the marble on the west wall of Butterfly Spring, three large characters "Butterfly Spring" written by Guo Moruo are engraved. In addition to the Butterfly Spring, the entire scenic area also has a stone archway typical of Dali Bai architecture, the Five Dragon Pool with five clear springs gushing out, the Lover's Lake with clear and transparent water, and the Butterfly Museum which collects and exhibits butterfly specimens from all over the country.
