The three pagodas were part of the royal temple of the ancient Nanzhao Kingdom and Dali Kingdom, built during the Song Dynasty. They have stood for centuries, enduring weather and earthquakes. Chongsheng Temple was rebuilt in 2005 and features several large halls with various Buddhas and the locally revered Acuoye Guanyin. The location is backed by Cangshan Mountain and faces Erhai Lake, offering stunning scenery. 🗺️Travel Tips It is recommended to first visit the Three Pagodas for sightseeing and photography, then proceed to Chongsheng Temple for worship and to overlook the Dali landscape. The entire visit is expected to take about 2 hours. There are many steps to Chongsheng Temple, and climbing them at high altitude can cause altitude sickness. Therefore, it is recommended to purchase a combo ticket that includes the scenic area shuttle bus and entrance fee. Elderly and children can take the shuttle bus from the visitor center at the bottom directly to the Great Buddha Hall at the top. Generally, people can choose to climb up and take the bus back, which offers a better experience but requires physical strength. Alternatively, you can take the bus to the Great Buddha Hall and walk down, which is easier but not friendly to the knees. 📷Photo Spots 1.
