Escaping the summer heat in Dali—eat, sleep, repeat

🟤 For this Dali trip, I stayed at Nuanxi in the ancient town area, in the Xia Mo room type. The room offered a view of the Cangshan Mountains, providing a peaceful retreat right on the edge of the bustling ancient town. The space was spacious, equipped with all the functional areas you'd expect from a star-rated hotel, and featured smart home conveniences—just call out to Xiao Du for anything. 🟤 You won’t believe the attention to detail by the designer! Their tissues, pillows, toilet, and showerhead were the highest quality I’ve encountered in any hotel so far. I even noticed the sink faucet was Hansgrohe—the water flow was silky smooth. Shoutout to Hansgrohe, though installation requires specific water pressure and quality. (Side note: The shower door handle had a loose screw—my designer instincts kicked in, haha.) 🟤 The service was incredibly thoughtful too! They even washed, dried, and delivered our clothes to the room. My boyfriend was especially moved—usually, he’d have to wait around at other hotels or guesthouses to handle laundry himself. The staff also reheated our leftover mushroom dishes (Yunnan’s mushrooms are too delicious to waste 😭). 🟤 The hotel offers afternoon tea, goodnight sweet soup, and breakfast on the fourth floor—all freshly made. I had an amazing bowl of rice noodles (photo evidence included!). Enjoying breakfast while gazing at the Cangshan Mountains, I even spotted a flock of geese flying by like twinkling stars in the daytime. I kept saying, “How can life be this blissful?”—probably because this trip was completely work-free. 🟤 Both the room and common areas were super photogenic, much larger than I expected, and the style outshone many cafés. The overall aesthetic leaned into wabi-sabi, and pairing it with simple, neutral-toned outfits made for perfect shots. Another healing day~
