Must-knows for visiting Dali: Erhai Lake is divided into West Shore and East Shore. Most attractions of Dali Ancient Town are on the West Shore. If you only have one day, just focus on the West Shore! - 1️⃣ Sun Palace (Book in advance, saw Yang Liping's artistic home) 2️⃣ Jianhai Courtyard (The seaside wooden cabin is absolutely stunning) 3️⃣ Langqiao (Check out the bridge holes) 4️⃣ Dali North Gate Market (Lots of beautiful woven straw bags for 20-30 yuan) 5️⃣ Bianzhai Maling·Wild Mushroom Hotpot·Fireplace BBQ (Uses authentic wild mushrooms, the owner is super genuine. The mushroom soup is deliciously sweet, must pair with their special hotpot dipping sauce - absolutely addictive! The mushroom and cured meat fried rice is also amazing～) 6️⃣ Cang'er Avenue (Popular photo spot) 7️⃣ Dali Tianyuan (Free garden you must visit in Dali, all kinds of 💐, and it's huge - every shot is Instagram-worthy!) 8️⃣ Taohong Xiaoguan·Special Dali Cuisine (Authentic Dali dishes are surprisingly good, proving good wine needs no bush. Recommended: sour-spicy fish local style, erkuai chili chicken, hydrangea tofu!) 9️⃣ Ou Wei Yi (A purple-themed boutique with all kinds of purple hats, clothes, dresses, and accessories) 🔟 Banshan Yue (Fairytale cottage super pretty, great for photos) 🔟1️⃣ Ximu Haidui (Very unique coffee shop) 🔟2️⃣ Xindi Coffee (Too crowded!) You don't have to drink there, the surroundings are great for photos - ⚠️ Travel tips: 1️⃣ Transportation: Rent an electric bike!!!! Great value, go wherever you want for a day. Shared e-bikes not recommended - might run out of battery and are slow!!! Rented outside scenic areas can't enter West Shore! 2️⃣ Dali has big temperature differences between day and night, sun protection is a must!
