Must-Visit Century-Old Hotel in Dalian

Dalian Railway 1896 Garden Hotel This isn't retro style – it's genuinely a century-old landmark‼️ Designed by German and Russian architects, the 28 standalone villas have been protectively developed by Dalian Railway Bureau into today's garden hotel. Beyond the uniquely designed villas, the hotel features a grand fountain, ornate stone statues, and carved walls at its central square, transporting visitors straight to the turbulent era of the late 19th century. We stayed in the Villa Executive Standard Room at Building 11, constructed in 1904. The building has no elevator, only staircases. Each room has a distinct layout, relatively compact, with luxurious antique wooden floors, intricate rosewood furniture, elaborate chandeliers, floral wallpaper, and chaise lounges – making you feel like you've time-traveled to the Republic of China era. During exploration, we discovered Building 32!! Also known as Yidi Garden🏠, built in 1903, covering 344.95 square meters. Designed by renowned German architect Bralinowski, this European-style building housed Zhang Xueliang and Zhao Yidi during his tenure as Commander of the Northeast Fleet in July 1928, later named "Yidi Garden" in her honor. The hotel boasts an excellent location: 50m from Russian Street, close to Zhongshan Square, with the 201 tram nearby. In May 1913, scholar Cai Yuanpei also stayed here during his Dalian visit.
