From my personal experience, this area compared to the western route's Xinlaohuilong and Xichang, has clearer water, more beautiful mountains, and fewer crowds. What's even more remarkable, is the rich cultural and historical resources here, from the ancient Yue-Gan Trail and Zhao Tuo's ancient city to red culture stories like the Dinosaur Ancient Bridge, and ethnic minority features like Shuangtian Village. But today I want to highlight Pear Blossom Lodge where I stayed, though not directly lakeside at Wanlv Lake, as the saying goes: "The bright moon and gentle breeze are priceless; nearby water and distant mountains all hold sentiment." On this holiday night, it gave me a poetic mountain retreat experience. The amenities here are comprehensive, with a large parking lot, EV charging stations, ancient-style photo shoots, swings, ping pong, KTV, seasonal fruit picking (bayberries, pears, chestnuts, papayas, peaches, etc.), a natural mountain spring pool, small bamboo rafts, a farmhouse restaurant, tea, coffee, craft beer, and even artworks by master Huang Jiannan to admire. The lodge's courtyard offers scenic views at every turn, and the staff's service makes you feel right at home. Though it's a mountain property, there's no dampness or mold, not even mosquitoes in ground-floor rooms - honestly quite rare. Toiletries are JW Marriott standard, linens are daily sterilized at five-star hotels in downtown Heyuan. After chatting with owner Mr. Huang, I learned he's president of Heyuan's B&B Association, with over 20 years of five-star hotel management experience - which explains everything. Only professionalism creates excellence👍 Reportedly, this is one of two places in Heyuan with the highest negative oxygen ion content. Nighttime cricket and frog songs outside become natural lullabies, and before I knew it, I enjoyed holiday sleep straight through till morning. Strolling through the orchard at dawn, crystal pears were forming on branches, chestnuts just beginning to sprout, soon to be joined by Thai green-skinned jade-hearted pomelos.
