Before going, I saw many people saying that this 'Dunhuang Silk Road Heritage City' is a man-made attraction and not worth visiting blah blah blah, but actually, I think, if you are there to study history, you might indeed want to skip it, but for many people like me who are just out for fun, to take happy photos of ourselves, spending 60 yuan for almost half a day's joy, I think it's quite worth it! The buildings inside are quite majestic, and you don't need to take an electric car, just stroll around and take pictures at your own pace. The Temple of Athena is suitable for wedding photos, the Giant Buddha for Dunhuang Feitian (Flying Apsaras) shots, and the ancient city for martial arts scenes. Everyone can design their own photo ops.
