Duolun Lake is a great place for a self-driving tour in autumn.

🚗 The visitor center is at the north gate, and there are many farmhouses here. If you stay and eat there, you can get free tickets. We followed one of them. Accommodation 💰100, lamb and fish are expensive, other dishes are around 30. The farmhouse is at the south gate, and it takes 20 minutes to drive from the north gate to the entrance of the west loop line. 🚗 I think the west loop line is more beautiful. The viewing platforms on the mountains are all unique and worth visiting. It is recommended to drive clockwise around the lake, so you can stop at each viewing platform along the way. 🚗 We started driving from south to north at 15:00, took photos at each viewing platform, but did not walk on the plank road. We passed by the flower sea at the north gate, spent 20 yuan/person to take the small train. Visitors who have difficulty walking can consider this trip. The flower sea now has many photo spots, but they are not that impressive up close. A 15-minute ride on the small train is enough. 🚗 There are three viewing platforms on the east loop line. The first one is suitable for flying drones, where you can see the winding river flowing through the grassland. The whale island behind is a bit cute. We arrived at the legendary dirt road at 19:00, and our car passed smoothly.
