In front of the village, there are two hills facing each other across the river, and behind the village lies the Wenbi Mountain. The village's architecture is mostly in the Lingnan style with gable and hip roofs, a courtyard layout with one hall, four rooms, one toilet, and one skylight, complete with stone carvings, plaster carvings, and murals. Over 800 years ago, the poet Yang Wanli came to Guangdong as an official and passed by Qingtang - now Lubao Town - by boat. Inspired, he wrote 'Setting Sail from Qingtang': 'The reeds are deep, the bulrushes shallow, the lychee flowers dim, the chinaberry flowers bright. As the boat sails, the mountains on both sides seem to move, the water enters the villages, forming a sea swirl.' This vividly depicts a Lingnan water town, and Changqi Village is located within the territory of Lubao Town. Because there is no industry nearby, the natural environment is well preserved, making it a famous longevity village. The pond on the left is full of withered lotuses, reminiscent of the poet Li Shangyin's verse: 'The autumn shade does not disperse, the frost flies late, leaving the withered lotus to listen to the rain.' In summer, the lotus flowers in the pond must bloom splendidly, presenting a different scene. The ancestral halls of the village's surnames are lined up in a row by the water, with the households' houses arranged behind them, gradually extending towards the mountaintop. It is said that the higher up you go, the younger the houses are, with the elders living in the front houses, symbolizing the intention to leave descendants. At the entrance of the village, there are several ancient banyan trees with intertwined roots, so thick that several people together could not embrace them. Following the villagers' directions, going further inside and through an ancient stone gate, one can climb up the mountain along the steps. A mountain is not necessarily high; it's the presence of immortals that makes it magical. This mountain is called Wenbi Top, and there is another called Kapok Hill nearby. It is said that when the village was built, the villagers worked together to cut off the top of Kapok Hill to raise the height of Wenbi Top. Backed by Wenbi Top, the original intention was to hope for a village full of literati, but now it has grown into a lush eucalyptus forest, attracting young people in the village to talk about love here. At the top of Wenbi, there is a small pavilion from which one can overlook the hundred or so ancient houses below, seeing the flying eaves and gable roofs standing tall; the narrow lanes, two people wide, paved with hemp stones, blue bricks, and cement, crisscross among the ancient houses, leading straight from Wenbi Top to the village entrance pond. There are also watchtowers at the entrance of the village, specially reserved for gun ports and lookout ports.
