Oise

Oise Located 80 kilometers north of Paris, on the banks of the Oise, where the Aisne flows into the Oise. There was a palace in Combigne as early as the Merovingian dynasty. In 603 Clothal II signed the peace of Combigne after being defeated by Hudebert II and his brother Theodric II. Hilderic II, the son of Clothal II, chose the Palace of Combigne as his capital. Louis II and Louis V were laid to rest in the church here. In 1380 Charles V ordered a fortress to be built there.
