Spectacular views at Tagonoura Minato Park

This park was developed using soil and sand generated during port development work at Tagonoura Port. It's a bit of a walk from Higashi Tagonoura Station, but it takes about 30 minutes to get there. There's an observation plaza with a view of Mt. Fuji, a sandy beach, athletic facilities, and more, so it's fun for both children and adults. I visited in the spring, and the sea breeze was pleasant, and I was able to see a beautiful sunset. There weren't many people, so it was nice and quiet. I really liked the stone monument with eight poems about Mt. Fuji written by Yamabe no Akahito, a poet from the Nara period, carved into stone and arranged in the shape of Mt. Fuji♪
