Fukui Prefecture's Daffodils

Located in the central part of Japan, the Echizen Coast of Fukui Prefecture is lined with many daffodils standing tall. During the snowy winter season, it is the flowering period for the white daffodils, earning Fukui the nickname 'The Land of Daffodils'. The daffodil seascape blooming resolutely beside the cliffs attracts many flower enthusiasts every year. Over 60 hectares of daffodil clusters grow along the coast, with the surging waves hitting the majestic rocky cliffs. However, the daffodils stand firm against the sea breeze, which only serves to spread their fragrance further and wider. On a clear day, not only can you enjoy the sea and flowers simultaneously, but you can also watch the sunset at Echizen's Cap, one of Japan's top 100 sunset spots.
