Not Your Typical Ancient Town in China!

NeYin Ancient Town (讷殷古城 nèyīn gǔchéng) is just so different than all the other ancient towns I’ve seen in China. The gate is decorated with bull’s skulls and the houses inside actually look modern (and it seems like you can book those houses to stay overnight!). Upon entering the area, you’d be greeted by a line-up of important figures of the area. Many involved in the area-dispute with Pyongyang, and others are Manchurian VIPs or the indigenous people. The Tree-God (that tall tree wrapped with red ribbons and God of Changbaishan (riding a tiger) are looking so mighty. The snowy path and are beautiful. Definitely worth visiting during your stay at Changbaishan! ————————— Getting There - take Taxi and ask them to wait for you (hard to call for other taxi from this place). We spent 1.5hrs there, roundtrip to Sheraton hotel (around 20mins ride one-way), paid ¥120. Attractions - ancient town. Good for some walk and photo-taking. Tickets - it was free when we visited. Hotels - Closer from Wanda Ski Resort’s area hotels. It would take more than 2hours from North Slope (Crowne Plaza), or stay inside this ancient town! Food & Restaurants - none that we saw. But also there was no other tourists when we visited.
