Fuzhou Gushan

Fuzhou Gushan is located in the eastern suburbs of Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, on the north bank of the Minjiang River. It is one of the most famous scenic spots in Fuzhou. The following is a detailed introduction to Gushan: Natural scenery - Mountain Overview: Gushan has a subtropical marine monsoon climate. The scenic area is rich in water resources and has many streams, but they are unevenly distributed. The main peak is 969 meters above sea level, with a total area of ​​48 square kilometers. It consists of more than a dozen peaks, and the highest peak, the Bianwei Peak, is 998 meters above sea level. - Natural scenery: With the ancient Yongquan Temple as the center, there are more than 20 scenic spots in the east, such as Huilong Pavilion and Lingyuan Cave; there are dozens of caves and gullies in the west, among which the Eighteen Scenic Spots are the most famous; there are more than 50 scenic spots in the south, such as Luohan Terrace and Xianglu Peak; there are 45 scenic spots in the north, such as Dading Peak and Baiyun Cave. They date from the Northern Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty and even to the present day, spanning nearly a thousand years. They bring together seal, official, running, cursive, and regular scripts, and present the calligraphy of more than 2,400 ancient and modern celebrities. The content involves politics, history, religion, culture, etc. It is the only special scenic spot resource in the scenic area and a national key cultural relic protection unit. - Yongquan Temple: "The first temple in Fujian" Yongquan Temple is one of the national key Buddhist temples in the Han area. It was first built in the Tang Dynasty and has been rebuilt many times in history. The Yongquan Temple you see now was rebuilt in 1983. It maintains the architectural regulations of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the Heavenly King Hall, the Main Hall and the Dharma Hall as the main body. The "three irons" (iron tree, iron pot, iron wire wood) and "three treasures" (pottery pagoda, carved blocks, blood sutras) in the temple are world-famous.  Cultural Landscape - Eighteen Scenic Spots of Gushan: Also known as "Eighteen Scenic Spots of Bodhidharma" or "Eighteen Cave Scenic Spots", it is a special cave landscape formed after long-term weathering, erosion and collapse of the mica granite on the mountain. It includes eighteen scenic spots such as Bodhidharma Facing the Wall, Ascending to the South Pole, and Immortal Monkey Guarding the Gorge. The scenic area is dotted with huge rocks and strange rocks, and cliff carvings are also hidden among them.  - Tang Dynasty Stone Path Ancient Road: It has been built for more than 1,100 years. It was opened when Wang Shenzhi, the King of Fujian, filled the pond and built Yongquan Temple in the second year of Kaiping in the Later Liang Dynasty. The ancient road has more than 2,500 stone steps, about seven miles long, with a rest pavilion every one mile, forming a "seven pavilions every seven miles" pattern.
