Fusion sushi in Ghent

And among the sushi restaurants in this city, Sushi Palace is very famous. I am tired of Western food, so I have to stop by and try it. ****-Location/Atmosphere-**** Sushi Palace is located on Oudburg Street, which is an area with many restaurants. It is a little far from the city center (but you can walk there) and near the Leie River and popular tourist attractions such as Gravensteen Castle. The shop does not look very big, but there is outdoor seating outside. Plus, the roof is extended, making it look magnificent, worthy of being a palace. As for the restaurant, the lighting is quite dim during dinner. The decorations and pictures seem to be a mix of Chinese and Japanese styles. It is quite interesting. ****-Menu I tried-**** Even though the name of the restaurant seems to be Japanese food, But on the menu, you can also find both dim sum and pad thai for ordering. Pad thai is available in vegetarian, shrimp, chicken, and even beef (as a real Thai living in Thailand, I have never seen pad thai with beef). When I saw it, I laughed at the restaurant's creativity. But since they said they focused on sushi, this meal we decided to order the following. ➡️ Gyoza Chicken – Gyoza can be ordered with vegetable, chicken, and shrimp fillings, but there was no pork filling. We chose chicken. The frying skill was up to standard. The filling was full and not too thin. It was well seasoned. The strange thing was the dipping sauce, which looked like five-star chicken dipping sauce (555). I think they must have seen that the filling was "chicken" and it was fried, so they thought that it had to use chicken dipping sauce... Even though it was strange, it was still enjoyable to eat. ➡️ Miso Soup – It is a miso soup that comes in a large size, the size of a soup bowl. It comes with seaweed, mushrooms, and tofu. It is fun to sip on sushi. I noticed that this place will bring the soup first and then pretend to wait. (Very long) It seemed like they wanted us to finish the soup first until we had to say that we could take the sushi out, then they brought the sushi out to serve. I guess it was because they saw that it was soup, which according to Western customs, when you eat a course, you have to finish it before the main course. ➡️ Dynamic – This is a Sushi Roll that probably came from the Dynamite Roll. The staff said that it was a popular menu here, so we had to try it. The filling is sweet egg and avocado, topped with shredded cucumber, shrimp eggs, crab sticks, and crispy tempura flour scraps and fried puffed rice. It is topped with a little bit of a thick, semi-sweet, semi-salty sauce. It tasted quite delicious. You could say that they are quite skilled. We really liked it. ➡️ Sexy Roll – This is a roll filled with shrimp tempura and seaweed, topped with unagi and shrimp eggs. The sauce is the same as the sauce used to coat eel. The taste is acceptable, but when compared to the previous Dynamic dish, even though the ingredients are not as high-class as this dish, in terms of combining flavors, it is better.
