#okinawatrip "On April 12, the 32nd Imperial Army launched multiple offensives across the entire front on the southern U.S. advanced positions on Kakazu Ridge, a saddle with two hills formed as part of the Shuri's outer defenses line. The Imperial soldiers fought tenaciously, and their attacks were heavy, sustained, and well organized. The U.S. forces sustained a frightful loss due to the unfamiliar terrain and well-fortified enemy positions. After countless fierce close-combat engagements and superior firepower used, the U.S. forces finally repulsed the enemy." So yeah, didn't know this site was one of the bloodiest battle site.
