Arches: the one common thing that is never absent in cathedral

#celebrateit Prior to my visit to Granada Cathedeal, I read somewhere that the architecture of arches in Granada Cathedral reflects a blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. The grand semicircular arches, characteristic of the Renaissance influence, frame the towering columns and create a sense of verticality. Ribbed vaults, remnants of the Gothic tradition, enhance the ceiling’s intricacy, while Baroque embellishments add ornate details, showcasing Spain’s evolving architectural styles. I wouldn’t have been able to notice that alone. This is also how audio guide (or pre-visit reading) really helps enhance our experience with an attraction.
