GUIMARAS: TRAPPIST MONASTERY

When I think of Guimaras, it always brings me to the memory of the monks living in enclosure with extreme sacrifices. Trip.com flies me to Manila-ilo-ilo. As I reached the Ilo-ilo international airport, by car i reached Ortiz Port. By riding a boat, i reached Jordan Port where I can arrange a 30 minute jeepney/ muti-cab to the Trappist Monastery in Brgy. San Miguel. I toured the monastery grounds with plenty of mango trees and spent a day of prayer and silence. I talk with the monk who are very friendly and full of wisdom about life. The place also can entertain overnight spenders. When I left the monastery grounds, I don't forget to buy jellies, jams, candies and more. All are products grown in Trappist grounds.
