Seomjin River Plum Village

If you follow the Seomjin River that meanders along the foot of Jirisan Mountain, you will find Seomjin Village, where plum trees are planted all over the place. Instead of grain, the farmers in this village plant plum trees on the mountains and fields, and every March, the plum blossoms in full bloom create a spectacular sight, as if snow has fallen or white flower clouds have descended on the valley. The Cheongmaesil Farm, which was the first in the country to start mass cultivation of plum trees, has a well-maintained plum tree complex, including hundreds of 70-year-old trees planted by Yulsan Kim O-cheon around 1930, and about 2,000 traditional earthenware pots used to make plum foods, along with the bamboo forest behind the farm, liven up the atmosphere.
