A place to pause, interact and enjoy river views, this park is located in the middle of Victoria Street in Hamilton and overlooks the mighty Waikato River. The place links beautifully with the city and is a perfect place to enjoy your coffee while exploring Hamilton City Centre. This urban intervention crafted by Edwards White Architects also boast a terraced amphitheatre, with ramps, stairs and terraced seatings descending towards the river foot path. There’s also a beautiful portal like sculpture entitled Te Tatau ki Kirikiriroa, designed and created by Robert Jahnke. The sculpture conveys the story of how the site was once know as the ‘Garden Basket’ of Auckland.
