|Visit this Jiangnan water town for the holidays. The bridges, flowing water, white walls, and black tiles are the epitome of Jiangnan water town aesthetics. Heqiao Ancient Town is located in western Lin'an, near Anhui. It was once the seat of the Changhua County government. Over the past thousand years, countless stories have been told about the area between Huizhou and Hangzhou. Heqiao was once the most prosperous town in the area, and the town gate still bears the words "Tangchang's First Town." The town once prospered due to commerce, but it gradually declined as commerce moved elsewhere. Now, it is a quiet and pure place with few visitors. There are few shops, and those that do exist are run by locals. The water of the Liuxi River is clear and clean, and a beautiful wooden bridge spans the river. The ancient town's old street is small and can be explored in an hour. The town is clean and tidy, but the smell of fertilizer from the fields near the parking lot and public toilets is overwhelming. Here, I saw people chopping wood, cooking, washing clothes by the river, drying quilts on bamboo poles, drying bamboo shoots on bamboo trays, and growing cacti. Recommendation: This town is not worth visiting on its own, but it is a must-see stop on the Anhui-Zhejiang Sky Road/Zhejiang West Sky Road. Nearby: 6.7 km from Fengzhigu Scenic Area 14 km from Tuankou Zhong'an Radon Hot Spring In spring, there are nearly 800 acres of rapeseed flowers near Heqiao Ancient Town. When I visited, the golden flowers were almost finished blooming, like a spring oil painting.
