Exploring the Chenghuang Pavilion and Pirai Peak in Hangzhou’s History

#ChinaTravelMoment #2024WishEvent One of the most impressive moments in Hangzhou was when I climbed the ‘Chenghuang Pavilion.’ This building, standing tall on the lakeside in the center of the city, has a grand traditional beauty from the exterior, and when you go inside, you can also see exhibits related to Hangzhou’s history. There is also a space nearby to honor the emperor, and the red pillars and golden sculptures give off a majestic impression. After that, I visited the area around Lingyin Temple, where the Pirai Peak Stone Buddha is located. The Buddhist statues carved hundreds of years ago are lined up along the rock face, allowing me to feel the harmony between nature and man-made objects. I realized that Hangzhou’s history is not just in books, but is alive and breathing right under my feet!
