His body is preserved in the mausoleum and protected by the guard. Apart from the mausoleum, you can also explore his private residence while he was serving the country which consists of his simple house, garden and pond. There is also the Vietnam War Memorial in the complex where you can learn about the brutal proxy war that went in the country for two decades until it gained independence. You will see old Soviet weapons and stories about the war here. It is a must visit for history buff like me.
