Hanzhong City

Hanzhong's urban layout is relatively simple, with the Han River as the boundary. The north bank is Hanzhong city, and across the Han River Bridge is Dahekan, which is under the jurisdiction of Nanzheng District. The traditional city center is the east-west line from Dongda Street to Dongguanzheng Street, where most of the historical sites are located. With the westward migration of the commercial district, the current city center spreads out in all directions along the north-south line of Tianhan Avenue and Beida Street. Although many people come to Hanzhong for leisure and entertainment, there are still some places worth visiting in the city. In the old city area of ​​several kilometers from the ancient Hantai to Dongguan Main Street, you can still see the urban life inherited from the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. In today's ancient town craze, Hanzhong's old streets are enough to refresh people. Ancient Han Terrace is the site of the palace of Han King Liu Bang. After the Song Dynasty, Ancient Han Terrace was once used as the back garden of Hanzhong Prefecture. Now it has been converted into Hanzhong Museum. The ancient Han Terrace is a typical Qin and Han Dynasty palace architectural style. It faces north and south and is divided into three levels. The first part is Wangjiang Tower, which was originally the highest point of Hanzhong City. The second part is a two-story building. After passing Jingwu Pond and Hantai Stele Forest, you will reach the third part of the museum. The west wing is the Shimen Thirteen Products Exhibition Room, and the east wing is the Baoxiang Ancient Plank Road Exhibition Room, both of which are closely related to the Shimen Plank Road. "Shimen Thirteen Pieces" refers to the general term for the thirteen cliff carvings between the Shimen Tunnel of Baoxiade and the north and south cliffs. The Baoxiade Road is the longest and most border-crossing Shu Road that crosses the Qinling Mountains; the Shimen is a tunnel opened during the Yongping period of the Eastern Han Dynasty (58-75 AD). It is the world's earliest artificial mountain transportation tunnel. Literati and poets of all dynasties have carved 178 kinds of stone carvings in the Shimen Tunnel and the cliffs to its north and south. The most famous of these are the Shimen Thirteen Pieces, which are regarded as national treasures. It is said that the two words "玉盆" were written by Zhang Liang, and the two words "衮雪" were written by Cao Cao. When we went there, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The two peonies in the garden were gorgeous, graceful and elegant, and they complemented the tall cedars in the same yard. There is still a lotus in the front yard, but unfortunately it is past its flowering period. Therefore, the flower resembles a lotus, the leaves are the same as lotus leaves, the shape and color are like lotus roots, and it grows on trees in dry land, so it is called drought lotus. It is also named the city flower of Hanzhong. It is said that the Altar of General Worship is the place where Liu Bang set up the altar and worshipped Han Xin as a general. The site was originally an earthen altar, but now it has been renovated into a stone altar. No historical relics can be seen anymore. A new statue of General Han Xin has been erected above the stone altar. Although there are no other historical sites except the "Night Shadow Monument", many people still come here to visit. At night, there is an endless stream of people enjoying the cool air, strolling along the Binjiang Road Pedestrian Trail from Tianhan Square north of the bridge to the Music Fountain Square. The night view on the Han River is very peaceful, with the river bank and the Han River Bridge forming a colorful bond. Tianhan Square is a place for barbecue and beer at night. You can also take a pleasure boat cruise on the Han River at Pier No. 1.
