In the scenic area, the homestay becomes a painting—Helan Mountain Ancient Forest Homestay

Originally, I came down from Helan Mountain to visit the rock paintings and looked for a nearby place to stay. I first discovered the ancient village restaurant near the rock paintings. After lunch, I could continue to tour, so I found the Ancient Forest Homestay nearby. The homestay's promotion is still insufficient. When booking, I saw it was just a homestay, adjacent to the rock paintings and not far from Zhenbeibao. After 6km of mountain road in Helan Mountain, I drove wearily to the Ancient Forest Homestay, only to find that the entire ancient village of rock paintings is a miniature garden scenic spot, integrating dining, accommodation, and the scenic area. Staying among the lush green trees, eating by the pond, and strolling on the wooden bridge: winding paths leading to secluded spots, turning around and around, surrounded by trees and flowers everywhere. Sitting leisurely and tasting tea, looking up, the dense trees reveal twinkling stars. If you haven't had enough, you can climb up the steps. The terrace offers a view of the sky, and looking down, you see a sea of green. The homestay rooms are not large but sufficient, with tea sets, flashlights, and umbrellas, all meticulously prepared. The food is rich and delicious, seemingly expensive, but the portion sizes are astonishing and should be improved, as waste is shameful. Fortunately, after packing, the dinner is plentiful and can be reheated, which makes up for it. Breakfast was a bit overwhelming. The six dishes were already abundant, but there was more, including Western-style steak, which could serve as a main meal. The only regret is that as the only dining option in the rock painting area, there is almost no rest time. Lunch and dinner are continuous, making it overly noisy. When I read the reviews before booking, someone said the bookshelf takes up space and is unnecessary! I disagree. The small space did not affect the accommodation experience, and those old books, even some tattered ones, reflect the owner's sentiment.
