A spectacular winter view of Mt. Asahidake in winter

Mt. Asahidake is crowded with backcountry skiers in winter, but you can also take a ropeway up to the 8th station, making it one of the more accessible winter mountains. However, several people go missing each year, so it's important to be well equipped and prepared. It takes about 3 hours to walk up from the Sugatami Ropeway Station to the summit, and about 2 hours to descend.
