[Oita] Travel back in time to the Edo period?! Hita, a city that flourished as a shogunate territory

#Spring0yenTrip The first place we visited in Hita was the streetscape of Mamedamachi. This area flourished as a shogunate territory during the Edo period, and is lined with white-walled merchant houses and stone-paved alleys, making you feel as if you have traveled back in time. It was a fun place just to walk around, with local miso and soy sauce breweries, geta shops, eel restaurants, and more. In particular, at Hara Jirozaemon's miso and soy sauce brewery, the aroma of seasonings made using traditional methods wafted through the air, whetting our appetites. We also spent a relaxing time strolling along the Mikuma River, close to Mamedamachi, and listening to the murmuring of the river. Hita was a peaceful place where history and nature coexist in harmony.
