Tai Po Sakura | Tai Po Waterfront Park showcases three types of cherry blossoms.

Recently, you can enjoy the gorgeous cherry blossoms at the Tai Po Waterfront Park. However, there are not only one, but three different varieties of cherry blossoms blooming, including double-petal cherry blossoms, Fuji cherry blossoms, and the rare Mozome Sakura. Although all three are cherry blossoms, they are very different in color and shape, so why not take the opportunity to go and see them while they are still in full bloom! This year, cherry blossoms are blooming in many places in Hong Kong, and Tai Po Waterfront Park is one of the best places to enjoy them! What's special is that this year, Tai Po Waterfront Park can be found with three different types of cherry blossoms, including double-flowered cherry blossoms, Fuji cherry blossoms, and ink cherry blossoms. Among them, Mozome Sakura are relatively rare, so you must not miss this opportunity to appreciate them. Because their appearance, flowering period, and other characteristics are quite different, the editor will integrate the information of the three types of cherry blossoms for everyone: Mozome Sakura Mozome Sakura is a variety cultivated by the Oshima Sakura system in Japan. When it blooms, it is white, but gradually turns pink over time. The flowers usually open in an umbrella shape, with wide petals that overlap each other and have wavy edges. After some time, the white color fades into a watercolor-like pink, hence the name "color-changing Sakura". The blooming period of Mozome Sakura is generally in late March. Compared to the other two types of Sakura, Mozome Sakura is relatively rare. However, this year in Tai Po Waterfront Park, on the lawn bowling field next to the entrance of Tai Fat Street, a row of Sakura trees can be seen, with more Fuji Sakura on the trees, but on a few trees, rare Mozome Sakura can also be observed. Double-flowered mountain cherry blossom Double-flowered mountain cherry, also known as Yaezakura, has peach-pink flowers and is the most vibrant cherry blossom; the flowers hang down in a bell shape with long stems, and the blooming period is generally from late February to early March. Double-flowered mountain cherry is relatively easy to spot, and there are several trees with full blooms of double-flowered mountain cherry on a small hill near the azalea garden in Tai Po Waterfront Park. It should be easy for everyone to find when visiting for viewing. Fuji cherry Fuji Sakura is a hybrid variety of Taiwan native mountain cherry blossom and Japanese mountain cherry. The flower color is pink or light pink, with smaller flower shape. It sheds leaves before blooming, and the flowers are clustered or arranged in a corymb, also known as Pink Fuji Sakura. The flowering period of Fuji Sakura is generally from late February to March. Several blooming Fuji Sakura trees can be enjoyed near the riverbank near the kite-flying area. Hurry up and catch the tail of the cherry blossoms, and go to enjoy the various cherry blossoms early! Go to Tai Po Waterfront Park. Take the KMB buses 72A, 73, 73X, 75X, 271, 275R, 74K, 75K, 71K or 71S, or take the K17 MTR feeder bus. Alternatively, walk for 30 minutes from Exit B of Tai Po Market MTR Station.
