Hong Kong is indeed a legendary place where "every hurdle is difficult to overcome" (betraying one's age). Just look at how Mei Ho House was transformed from a former building into a witness to history. Mei Ho House was built in 1954. It was one of the first resettlement buildings built to accommodate the victims of the Shek Kip Mei Fire, marking the beginning of Hong Kong's public housing policy. The museum reproduces scenes from the 1960s and 1970s one after another (former unit facilities, food stalls 🍜, cinemas, street water stations, rooftop schools 🪑), which not only make me feel the difference between the past and the present, but also make me feel the perseverance and love of Hong Kong people back then 💓.
