M+, Asia's first globally acclaimed art museum, opened in November 2021

M+, Asia's first global visual culture museum, opened in November 2021. The museum aims to collect and exhibit works of art and culture, including visual art, design, architecture, and video from the 20th and 21st centuries, and the establishment costs are said to exceed 86.5 billion yen...! The collection is amazing, but what's also amazing is that all of the staff, including curators, conservators, and management, are international professionals gathered for this museum. The architecture itself by Herzog & de Meuron is one of the highlights, and is a Swiss architectural unit known in Japan for designing the interior and exterior of UNIQLO TOKYO in Ginza and the Prada Aoyama store in Omotesando.
