Hong Kong Hiking Adventure!

The MacLehose Trail is the first and longest hiking trail in Hong Kong. It was opened on October 26, 1979. The trail is just under 100 kilometers long, divided into 10 sections, with distance markers every 500 meters, totaling 200 posts. The trail is located north of Kowloon, along the mountain range extending east to west in the New Territories. It is mostly built along ridges and hillsides, traversing the eastern, southern, and western outskirts of the New Territories. The starting point is on the Sai Kung Peninsula in the far east of Hong Kong. The route generally meanders westward, crossing eight country parks: Sai Kung East, Sai Kung West, Ma On Shan, Lion Rock, Kam Shan, Shing Mun, Tai Mo Shan, and Tai Lam. The endpoint is in Tuen Mun New Town, the westernmost urban area of Hong Kong. Along the way, the scenery changes, offering panoramic views of mountains, seas, urban areas, villages, and reservoirs.
