Award-winning gardens on display at Hong Kong Flower Show

The 2025 Hong Kong Flower Show (Flower Show) is now being held at Victoria Park. In addition to the colorful garden landscapes and beautiful floral displays, the venue also displays the winning works of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD)'s Oriental Garden and Western Garden Competitions. The list is as follows: Oriental Garden Competition Champion: Tsuen Wan District "Kang Nan Residence" Environmental Protection Award Winner: Kwai Tsing District "Forget Worry Valley" Most Creative Award: Eastern District "Hong Kong Years" Western Garden Competition Champion: Yuen Long District "Happy House" Environmental Protection Award: Wan Chai District "Wandering Fun" Most Creative Award: Outlying Islands District "Treasure Hunt" The garden design of "Jiangnan Mansion" in Tsuen Wan District adopts natural elements such as rocks and water features, and is embellished with stone bridges, stone carvings, stone platforms and arches, which complement the garden landscape. The garden is planted with various flowers and trees with matching colors, presenting the harmonious beauty of nature. The garden in Kwai Tsing District is themed "Forget Worry Valley" and its design is inspired by the gardens in northern Thailand. The garden adheres to the concept of environmental protection and is built with recyclable materials. The meditation platform and cushions are made from broken branches and wood left over from typhoons, and decorated with environmentally friendly materials, reflecting the traditional philosophy of harmony between man and nature. The design inspiration of the "Hong Kong Years" garden in the Eastern District comes from Hong Kong's former resettlement areas. The garden is decorated with former shops and amusement facilities, and is planted with plants that were common at that time and decorated with colorful autumn flowers, telling the story of the small town. The garden is built with environmentally friendly materials to create an old-fashioned atmosphere. The "Happy House" garden in Yuen Long District is based on the theme of a dwarf garden, with flowers and trees scattered throughout the garden in an orderly manner and blooming in the spring. The park is full of winding paths, gurgling water and vitality, making people feel at one with nature and at ease. The design of the "Wandering Fun" garden in Wan Chai District is based on the theme of picnics, showing the joy of picnics with family and friends. The park is full of lush trees and fragrant flowers, and there are flower RVs and small camping tables, allowing people to feel relaxed and at ease during their journey. The "Treasure Hunt" garden in the outlying islands is planted with gorgeous tropical flowers and trees, exuding a Caribbean atmosphere. A flowing treasure chest is set up in the park, with treasure chests piled on the ground. It is built with recycled zinc-iron sheets and waste wood, implementing the concept of environmental protection. All entries for the garden competition are carefully designed by staff from the District Leisure Services Offices of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Citizens can go to the flower show to appreciate the above winning gardens and other unique entries. In addition, you can participate in the online voting for the "Most Liked Garden" and vote for your favorite garden from among the 18 districts. Participate in the vote for a chance to win free flights. The flower show will last until this Sunday (March 23rd), and the opening hours are from 9am to 9pm daily. About 400,000 flowers are on display at the venue, and a number of educational and entertaining activities are held at the same time, suitable for family participation. The flower show is organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. The Hong Kong Jockey Club has been donating and supporting the flower show through its Charitable Trust Fund since 2013, and has become the main sponsor since 2014.
