Hong Kong Museum of Art extends exhibition "The World of Cézanne and Renoir" to May 14

The "Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: The World of Cézanne and Renoir - Collections of the Musée d'Orangerie and the Musée d'Orsay" currently being held at the Hong Kong Museum of Art is the first exhibition in Hong Kong to feature two French Impressionist masters, Paul. Cezanne and Pierre-Auguste. The large-scale exhibition with Renoir as the theme has been well received by citizens and tourists since its opening on January 17, with more than 130,000 visitors to date. In order to allow more citizens to appreciate France's national treasure-level paintings, the Hong Kong Museum of Art will extend the exhibition period by one week to May 14. Citizens are encouraged to seize the opportunity to visit the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Renoir was the key figure in promoting the development of French Impressionism. His use of color, light and shadow opened a new era in the history of Western art. Cézanne's painting theory laid the foundation for the style of modern art in the early 20th century, influenced the subsequent development of European painting, and opened the prelude to modern art. This touring exhibition makes Hong Kong its first stop in Asia, showcasing 52 treasures from the renowned Musée d'Orangerie and Musée d'Orsay in France, 51 of which are on display in Hong Kong for the first time. The works include still lifes of fruits and flowers, landscapes, portraits and bathers, bearing witness to the extraordinary artistic achievements of Cézanne and Renoir, and looking back at their exchanges and learning at different stages of their artistic careers. Selected exhibits include Cézanne's "Apples and Pie", "Still Life - Covered Jar" and "Red Roofs (Pines at L'Estaque)" and Renoir's "Claude in a Clown Costume". Renoir," "Nude in a Landscape" and "Flowers in a Theatre Box." The exhibits also include two precious paintings by Spanish painter Pablo. Picasso's paintings "Large Still Life" and "Nude with a Drape" show how the creativity of the two Impressionist masters inspired later masters of painting. The exhibition’s educational corner simulates a French train platform and was carefully designed by the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Visitors can take a ride on the time train and explore the creative fields of Cézanne and Renoir. The Hong Kong-exclusive content also includes a simulated dialogue between the two masters and a footprint map, introducing the life anecdotes and deep friendship of these two legendary artists. The Hong Kong Museum of Art also invited two Hong Kong artists, Trevor Yeung and Kenny Lai, to draw inspiration from the works of the two Impressionist masters and create new works. Trevor Yeung’s installation “Garden Tour: Bathers and Spectators” is inspired by Cézanne’s bathers series. The installation consists of photographs and large-scale soft sculptures, exploring the series’ depiction of nudity and the tension of the gaze. Lai Yunting's installation work "Daily Whispers" is inspired by the still life and portrait paintings of two French masters. It uses contemporary Chinese ink paintings to outline the moments and details of daily life, reinterpreting the styles of the two masters from a 21st century perspective. The exhibition is currently being held in the Special Topic Hall on the second floor of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. Standard tickets are $50, group tickets (groups of 20 or more) are $35, and tickets for full-time students, people with disabilities (and an accompanying caregiver), seniors aged 60 or above and recipients of Comprehensive Social Security Assistance are $25. All tickets will be available for pre-sale seven days in advance at the URBTIX box offices and the self-service ticket machines at the Hong Kong Museum of Art or other designated locations. Admission is free for Museum Pass holders. The exhibition is exclusively sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, hosted by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and jointly planned by the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Musee de l'Orangerie and the Musee d'Orsay. #HongKongMuseumofArt #TheWorldofCezanneandRenoir #GreatPlacesForDischarge #Discharge #GreatPlacesForFamily #HolidayFamilyTour #LocalTour #GreatPlacesInHongKong #GreatPlacesForWeekdays #GreatPlacesForWeekends #GreatPlaces #LocalToursForFamily #FamilyTour #Family #FamilyActivities #Check-InAttractions #Check-In #hklifestyle #hkdaily #hkiger #hkig #hongkong #hk #instadaily #travelhk #discoverhk #explorehongkong #exploringhongkong #discoverhongkong #awesomehongkong
