The Hualien Harbor Shrine during the Japanese era, the current landmark Martyrs' Shrine

Location: No. 82, Fuxing New Village, Hualien City, Hualien County Introduction: Hualien Martyrs' Shrine was built in 1905. It was originally a Japanese shrine dedicated to the god of Hualien Port. There were five Japanese stone lanterns in front of the shrine steps. With the changes of history, the original appearance of the shrine has not been preserved. In 1980, the shrine was rebuilt into the current Martyrs' Shrine to commemorate the martyrs and enable future generations to admire the glory of the national shrine. Tickets: Free Opening hours: 9:00-17:00 Thoughts: Countless sages and martyrs are enshrined in the Martyrs' Shrine. It is a good place to reminisce and take a walk. Although the shrine no longer exists, one can still see its general layout, and recall the prosperous scene of the Japanese era. It is a historically significant attraction.
