I just got back from Huangshan and stayed up late to put together this two-day, one-night guide. If you're planning to visit Huangshan, make sure to save this guide! **Transportation Tips:** 1. Public transportation: Take a high-speed train directly to [Huangshan North Station]. After exiting the station, there are buses that go directly to the Huangshan Scenic Area, which takes about 1 hour. 2. If you're driving, you can set your GPS to [Tangkou Transfer Center]. There are accommodations and dining options nearby, making it very convenient. **Itinerary:** Day 1: Taiping Lake - Huangshan Scenic Area Day 2: Huangshan Scenic Area - Return **Recommended Hiking Routes:** Easy Hiking Loop: Gusi Temple → Xianren Fanzhuo → Rusheng Pavilion → Xianren Zhilou → Bright Summit → Aoyu Peak → Baibu Ladder → Guest-Greeting Pine → Yuping Cableway Challenging Hiking Route: Yungu Temple → Xianren Fanzhuo → Rusheng Pavilion → Xianren Zhilou → Bai'e Ridge → Shisun Peak → Shixin Peak → Mengbi Shenghua → Houzi Guanhai Paiyun Pavilion → Bright Summit → Aoyu Peak → Baibu Ladder → Guest-Greeting Pine → Tiandu Peak → Banshan Temple → Ciguang Pavilion **Essential Gear:** Windbreaker + inner layer, water (hot water), energy snacks, hiking backpack, trekking poles, hiking shoes, power bank **Travel Tips:** 1. If you want to stay on the mountain, book in advance as accommodations are limited. I found the Yunjia Shuguangli accommodation on the mountain to be quite nice. The Zen-like atmosphere of the mountain residence is refreshing. You can enjoy a peaceful and leisurely view of the mountains from your window. 2. The last cable car down the mountain is at 17:10 on weekdays and 17:40 on weekends, so plan your visit accordingly. 3. If you want to see the sunrise, I recommend staying on the mountain for a great experience. 4. Bring a thermos, as there are places on the mountain where you can get hot water. 5. Bring a pair of non-slip sneakers, which will make hiking much easier. 6. Check the weather and sunrise/sunset times before you go to avoid a wasted trip.
