Peace and quiet at Ikato monastery

#cityplaybook #georgia Ikato monastery is a great stop to stretch your legs on the way to Kakheti. When my friends and I arrived, we were the only people there, the place is serene, peaceful, and quiet. It has a beautiful garden around it, with lots of very old tombstones and ruins of an academy where some of the famous Georgian people studied. The place is small and about 20 minutes would be enough there but it truly worth a stop. If you arrive before 6 PM then you may enter the little local store at the premises where they sell really delicious churchkhela.
