Mireuksaji is said to have been founded in the 40th year of King Mu of Baekje. King Mu is the main character of Seodongyo and is well known to us for his love story with Princess Seonhwa of Silla. 1️⃣ First, when you go to Mireuksaji, you will see the old site of Mireuksaji, which is said to be the largest of the three kingdoms. Then, you will see the Mireuksaji Stone Pagoda that we often saw in history books and the media. 2️⃣ Of the two pagodas, the one on the west is the Mireuksaji Stone Pagoda, designated as National Treasure No. 11. This pagoda is a stone pagoda in the style of a wooden pagoda, and it is said that the part that was covered with concrete during the Japanese colonial period was recently removed and restored to its original form. 3️⃣ The eastern tower only has the foundation left when it was discovered, and there are no records of its actual form, but it is said that it was restored as a twin of the west tower based on the central wooden tower of Mireuksa Temple. 4️⃣ Mireuksa Temple was founded by King Mu, who was called Seodong in his youth, and it has been known that Lady Seonhwa was King Mu's first wife and queen, but due to the records of the golden sarira bongyeonggi discovered here, it has been revealed that King Mu's first wife and queen was not Princess Seonhwa of Silla, but the daughter of Sa-taek-jeok-deok, a great nobleman of Baekje, which raises questions about the credibility of the Seodong legend. 5️⃣ History is said to be the record of the victors, but in the case of our country's ancient history, the loss of records is so severe and the amount is so small that it is difficult to approach the true truth.
