Oyamazumi Shrine (^^) This shrine is called the general guardian deity of Japan and has over 10,000 branch shrines nationwide (^^) In the center of the shrine grounds sits a sacred tree, a large camphor tree that is about 2,600 years old, and the group of camphor trees in the shrine was designated a national natural monument in 1951 as the oldest group of camphor trees in Japan's primeval forest!
