| A Stunning Winter at Lake Inari. 👉 For those planning a trip to the Ivalo-Lake Inari area soon ‼️Dress warmly! 🩵📍Inari is the northernmost point that most visitors to Lapland can reach, and it's definitely the coldest place on this trip. If Saariselkä is 3–4°C, then Inari is definitely 3–5°C colder, possibly close to zero. ❄🚘Driving north from Saariselkä for about an hour, you'll pass the small town of Ivalo. The airport for northbound flights is located here. Continue north for about 20 km, a half-hour drive along country roads, and you'll arrive at the Lake Inari area. 🌟🌈The lake area is vast and offers wide-open views. On clear days, you can easily see the aurora borealis. There are also husky sledding and hiking activities in the town, which can be booked at the hotel reception. 🛖🏕Around the lake, there are many small cabins and a few semi-glass cabins. There's a small town in the center of the lake area with a supermarket and a gas station, providing essential supplies. 🍽Most cabins in the lake area offer meal packages. Otherwise, it's really hard to cook your own meals or go out to find food in the icy and snowy conditions. ❄🐾The scenery in front of our countryside cabin was incredibly beautiful, somewhat resembling the small river at the entrance of Kanas Lake in Xinjiang. There was even morning mist. During the Finnish polar night, the sun doesn't fully rise until after 10:30 am, so all the photos have a blue hour quality. 🛀The cabin was considered well-equipped for the lake area, with 24-hour constant hot water, not electrically heated, which is a rare treat in such cold weather. 🥐Also, the hotel offers meal packages. Breakfast is plentiful, and dinner is a set meal, nothing fancy, but filling. You can order à la carte if it's not enough.
