Exploring Uluwatu Temple in Bali

Wrapped in a sarong, I entered the temple and found that it surprisingly matched my outfit. Having heard numerous stories about the notorious monkeys of Uluwatu, I cautiously passed by them, guarding my belongings closely to avoid any theft. Despite my vigilance, a monkey managed to snatch my glasses from behind, but thankfully, a staff member retrieved them for me. Besides the mischievous monkeys, there were also lazy ones that barely acknowledged our presence, showcasing the diverse personalities of these creatures. Arriving late, I missed the sunset performance, but the Kecak dance after dusk was even more vibrant. The collective energy was palpable as we sat around the fire, waving our arms in unison, creating a circular tableau. The rhythmic chants of 'Kecak' echoed throughout the performance, embedding themselves in my mind. Despite the apparent chaos, there was a rhythm and harmony in the diversity.
