Dolmabahce Palace, designed in the European Baroque style, fashionable for the 19th century, was built in 1853 for Sultan Abdulmecid I. The interiors harmoniously combine the luxury of the East and the elegance of European decor. Six rulers of Turkey lived in the palace. The last one was President Kemal Ataturk.
