Okinawa Peace Memorial Museum

The Himeyuri Peace Museum opened on June 23, 1989 to pass on the horrors of war and the importance of peace to future generations. You can see the belongings of the Himeyuri students, photos, testimonials from survivors, and a diorama that recreates part of the Army Hospital trench in Haebaru and the inside of the Ihara Third Surgery Cave. The Himeyuri Peace Museum will be reopened on April 12, 2021! The theme is "To the generation that is even further away from the war." Those who do not know history will repeat the same mistakes.
