From the moment I entered through the grand gates—Akhai Pol, Suraj Pol, and Ganesh Pol—I was enchanted. The fort’s honey-gold sandstone walls seemed to glow under the Rajasthani sun, and the narrow winding lanes were alive with vibrant shops, temples, and havelis, each telling stories of a time long gone. What struck me the most was the sheer authenticity of the experience. Whether it was sipping masala chai at a rooftop café with panoramic views of the desert or exploring the intricately carved Patwon Ki Haveli, every moment felt deeply immersive. The Jain Temples inside the fort, with their exquisite marble work and sacred calm, offered a beautiful spiritual contrast to the lively market streets. I visited in November, which I highly recommend as the best time. The desert sun was warm but not harsh, and the evenings had a gentle chill that made strolls even more pleasant.
