Discover Nagoya's Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens

Located in Higashiyama Motomachi 3-70, Chikusa Ward, Nagoya City, the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens has been welcoming visitors since 1937. The park features a botanical garden, a zoo, an amusement park, and a sky observation tower among other attractions. The zoo and botanical gardens are quite expansive, requiring about five to six hours to explore fully. Two-thirds of the area is dedicated to the zoo, while the remaining one-third is the botanical garden. Visitors can see fascinating animals such as koalas, giraffes, raccoons, Asian elephants, hippos, and gorillas. Transportation: Take the Higashiyama Line subway to 'Higashiyama Koen' station, exit 3, and walk for 3 minutes. Hours: 09:00-16:50 Admission: 500 yen (free for junior high school students and younger, annual pass 2000 yen, sky observation tower combo ticket 640 yen).
