Unveiling the Saudi Arabia Pavilion at the Osaka Expo, I was amazed by Foster

I went to the 2025 Osaka World Expo yesterday and was completely stunned by the Saudi Arabia Pavilion. Designed by Foster, the traditional Saudi village was directly moved into the modern building, which is simply a dialogue between tradition and the future. 🌵 When you enter the Saudi Pavilion, you will first be attracted by the landscaped forecourt at the entrance, which is full of Saudi-style plants. It instantly creates the atmosphere of a desert oasis, and you will feel like you have traveled to the mysterious Middle East. 🌆 The whole building is a series of angular volumes, which seem to grow naturally from the desert and blend perfectly with the surrounding environment. In terms of architectural layout, the designer used computational fluid dynamics simulation to cleverly allow the cool breeze of midsummer to be brought into the inner street from the west, while in the cooler months, the front yard can be protected from the north wind, which is both practical and ingenious. 🏞 The central courtyard is the soul of the entire exhibition hall. During the day, the sun shines down, it is peaceful and beautiful, suitable for meditation and relaxation; at night it becomes a lively venue for activities. When the lights are on, the atmosphere is full, performances and activities are ongoing, and tradition and modernity collide here to create wonderful sparks. 🎬 What amazed me most was the audio-visual installations in the pavilion, which were distributed in the windows, entrances and various spaces. They were the result of cooperation between Foster, 59productions and squint/opera. As you move, light, shadow and sound interweave, like a fantasy adventure, vividly presenting Saudi Arabia's history, culture and future vision before your eyes, and maximizing the immersive experience. 💡 The Saudi Pavilion also pays special attention to sustainability in its design. It uses low-carbon materials, installs energy-saving lamps, recycles rainwater, and uses photovoltaic power generation. The goal is to reach the highest level of Japan's green building rating system, truly implementing the concept of environmental protection to the end. I have to say that Foster's design this time is absolutely amazing, perfectly combining Saudi Arabia's cultural heritage with modern architectural aesthetics, and every detail hides surprises.
